This mean, as of the September 2020 update, VS Code and it’s massive library of extensions can now be run / used on ARM-based devices running the Linux operating system such as Raspberry Pi, Chromebook, and more devices! Many of these extensions can be installed on any VS Code running on any platform. It includes support for extensions so developers can add support for additional languages and features. Visual Studio Code (VS Code) is Microsoft’s Free, Open Source development environment. This means that Microsoft is now officially supporting the use of Visual Studio Code on Raspberry Pi, Chromebook, and other ARM-based devices running Linux.
With the release of the v1.50 (September 2020) update of Visual Studio Code comes official support for Linux ARMv7 and ARM64.
